Introduction of the Eye Department:

Total bed strength of Eye Department is 6.
Annual OPD is near about 18,000 patients annually
Total surgical load is about 3500 surgeries annually

Infrastructure

Eye OPD has 2 examination rooms, 1 room for testing visual acuity refraction and 1 room having a slit lamp, auto refractometer and YAG laser.

Services provided

All major anterior segment surgeries like cataracts, Pterygium with autograft and I/V injection.

Cataract surgeries with intraocular lens implantation are done by the most modern method of Phacoemulsification and sutureless small incision cataract surgeries.

Emergency services are given round-the-clock to the beneficiaries.

Traumatic & chemical eye injuries are being managed successfully in the eye department.

Clinical achievements

Posterior segment (Retinal) disorders of the eye with the addition of:

Intravitreal injections of anti-VEGFs
Phacoemulsification machine and high-end operating microscopes for sutureless cataract surgeries
