ESIC Hospital, Tirunelveli, has established several committees to enhance the quality of care, ensure safety, and manage various aspects of hospital operations effectively.
The key committees involved in hospital development:
1. Death Audit Committee This committee is responsible for reviewing cases of patient deaths to identify any underlying issues related to care, treatment protocols, or systemic problems. The aim is to learn from these cases to improve patient safety and care quality.
2. Biomedical Waste Management Committee This committee oversees the management of biomedical waste generated by the hospital. It ensures compliance with regulations regarding the segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal of biomedical waste to minimize environmental impact and ensure safety.
3. Hospital Infection Control Committee Focused on preventing and controlling infections within the hospital, this committee develops and implements infection control policies, conducts training for staff, and monitors infection rates to enhance patient safety.
4. Tumor Committee This specialized committee addresses the management and treatment of tumour patients. It reviews cases, discusses treatment plans, and ensures that patients receive appropriate and timely care in line with best practices.
5. Quality Improvement Committee The Quality Improvement Committee is dedicated to enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided by the hospital. It meets regularly to assess quality metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
6. Super Specialty Audit Committee This committee focuses on the oversight and evaluation of super speciality services offered at the hospital. It reviews cases referred to empanelled hospitals for specialized treatments and ensures that patients receive the highest standards of care.
