Introduction of the Department:

The department of clinical lab in ESIC hospital, Tirunelveli contributes to excellent patient care by providing high quality testing, reliable laboratory service and continuous quality improvement. The clinical lab services all in-patient units including casualty, intensive care units, general ward, operating rooms, outpatient department (medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ENT, pulmonology, cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dental, AYUSH, homeopathy. It provides accurate timely results to support physician.

2. ASO (slide test)
3. CRP (slide test)
4. VDRL from serum /RPR
5. Dengue IgG/IgM card test
6. HbsAg rapid card test
7. Anti HCV rapid card test
8. RA (slide test)

VIROLOGY

1. HIV I & II RAPID card test

PARASITOLOGY

1. Stool routine microscopy
2. Stool reducing sugar
3. Stool occult blood
4. Malaria antigen card test
5. Peripheral blood smear for parasites (malaria, microfilaria).

The Department of Microbiology is located in the clinical laboratory, Room No. 23 on the second floor.
