Introduction of the Department:

The Department of clinical lab in ESIC Hospital, Tirunelveli contributes to excellent patient care by providing high-quality testing, reliable laboratory service and continuous quality improvement. The clinical lab services all in-patient units including casualty, intensive care units, general ward, operating rooms, outpatient department (medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, pulmonology, cardiology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, dental, AYUSH, homoeopathy. It provides accurate timely results to support physicians.

Facilities available:

Our department in the clinical lab operates 24 hours, 7 days a week to provide timely results with continuous quality improvement. The department performs around 25000 haematological tests, 18000 clinical pathological tests and 30 cytological investigations in a month.

The department provides various investigations including complete blood count, peripheral smear studies, reticulocyte count, blood grouping, smear studies for hemoparasites, Fine needle aspiration studies, body fluid analysis, urine microscopy, Prothrombin time and APTT.
